i’ve added this entry from my windows mobile device using the new mobile admin interface.
does not work on the blackberry browser though.
i’ve also moved to a nicer theme, although one that included a thumbnail in the post summary would be nicer. (does it exist?)

What do you mean by thumbnail in the post summary?
a thumbnail of the first image used in a post. sometimes an image can spark interest in looking at a post.
I see, but wouldn’t that only work when there are images attached to the post?
It could be done in one of three ways: a theme that supports it already, a plugin that adds the thumbnail to the summary, or modifying the theme.
I found the Thumbnail For Excerpts (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/thumbnail-for-excerpts/) plugin that looked like it would do what you want.
Since I have admin access, it is now installed and appears to be doing what you wanted. However only on the homepage as that seems to be the only page in this theme that actually shows the excerpt.
